EXPANDED GUIDING VALUES

1. It’s Gods Group keep your hands off. Hold it reverently and with your palms upward and open.

2. Avoid the temptation to structure. The statement of faith must be Christ Centered. It must avoid the controversial theologies. With all that said there must be a Biblical basis in all that happens. Consider using the Apostles Creed to lay foundations in the hearts of new believers. The Lords Prayer is a perfect starting point for anyone learning prayer .

3. Avoid titles & gift designations. If you are a Pastor, Elder or Deacons just be one. The concept of a facilitator or team of facilitators works well. The early Church went out two by two.

4. Have no paid positions. The ministry must never become financially driven.

5. Train-train-train - There will always be the need for deliberate discipleship. Training should happen in the group meeting but at separate times as well. There must to be times for inner healing, deliverance, Holy Spirit Empowerment and affirmation. Those things can be done in the group gathering but consider the wisdom that deeper ministry is often lengthy and sensitive. The group meeting may have difficulty with some things. Just be aware of your group and the needs of the moment

6. There will constantly be the need for new groups. When the group gets much bigger that 8 you will notice a shift in the anointing. A group of 12 must multiply (Jesus kept it at 12) Most larger groups don’t want to multiply. A freshly multiplied group starts over with 6.

7. Groups must multiply. Present this as an opportunity to walk in faith as well as a way to lay down our lives for the work of the Lord.

8. Cast the vision on a regular basis. Work hard to maintain the basic principles of the ministry. You will get tired of saying this over and over but it’s a must.

9. Always keep the group praying outward. If the group becomes inward focused the group will die.

10. There will always be the need for fresh wood on fire. Bring them from the highways and byways.

11. Focus on mission. The nation’s are at our doorstep

12. There is no room for exclusiveness or pride. The entire Fellowship of Groups must pray for other Pastors and Churches. Honor them in every way that is reasonable.
